Earlier today I received an email from YouTube saying I had to prove I had permission to use the images, music, and content in my MuTube videos. I have a whopping grand total of 48 subscribers as of today and something like the same amount of total videos uploaded. I make it a point to always give credit and acknowledgment of all authors, quotes, music, and other content I use in my videos.
The YouTube Machine… like most, if not all other corporate machines is run on FEAR. “Ownership” = Fear. Copyright = Fear. Legal mumbo-jumbo = Fear. $$$ = Fear. Threatening to delete videos that do not comply = Fear. Deleting videos = Fear. And on and on it goes.
It’s the same thing with the USA Health “Care” Machine. Doctors fear lawsuits, so they order unnecessary tests and put people on toxic meds. Fear. Insurance Companies Machine = Fear. The Political Machine = Fear and fear-based manipulation and control. And on and on it goes.
(Fear is not cool. It creates a lot of unnecessary issues.)
My intention for starting MuTube was to help other beings however I can, with what I’ve got, from wherever I am. (Cheri Huber said that in similar words). I do that by sharing information, inspiration, love, and beauty as I know and see it. That’s what MuTube is about. I’m not trying to get rich off of my 48 homemade YouTube videos. Unfortunately, now I will be sharing and incorporating less or none of other people’s creations and beauty in my videos and only including my own creations, photos, and music. Fear is constrictive and limiting – even when it is imposed on us by others like the YouTube Machine.
We Create But We Do Not “Own” Our Creations. We are all creators. We may be under the illusion we ‘own’ what we have created. But none of us owns anything. Not really. Some of us are artists. I’m an artist. I’ve got the worldly letters to go along with that label too. (ASCAP/SAG/AFTRA/Random other letters, blah blah blah.) Big whoop, right? We are merely the temporary care takers, place holders, baby sitters of our manifested focus and creations.
As I said, I make it a point to credit and acknowledge the artists, authors, musicians, and others I quote, or use in my videos.
(Plagiarism is not cool. People who plagiarize are covertly claiming the words and creations of others as their own. )
I won’t / can’t pay a license fee to use their art in my MuTube videos. I am also an affiliate for a couple of companies that I support and that help people and I will post links to those as they relate to my video content. But, I do not by any means make a living from those affiliations or the very small percentages of a random sale here or there.
I own nothing of any worldly value to speak of. I exist on very little — on well below the US poverty level income. We don’t actually need much to exist or survive on. I was labeled as physically “disabled” about 25 years ago. If someone becomes so-called ‘disabled’ or their body gets sick or chronically unwell and they live in the United States, or some place similar with similar corporate, economic, insurance, health care (lack of health care is more accurate) policies as the US has, and they have no family or social support system in place to help them (or if your support system gets sick or disabled as mine did), they will most likely end up like I did a year ago: homeless.
(Homelessness is not cool. It can happen to anyone. The only exception to that rule is the elite 1% in the US.)
My daily physical survival is still tenuous. I’m resilient and a very creative problem solver, but I still have not come up with workable, survivable solution to this challenge.
Something needs to change. I know we can do better as a global society. We have to do better. Or not. Either way we are all just passing through this illusion. Our physical bodies are all going to die, dissolve, disappear back into nothingness.
So be kind.
(Kindness is cool.)
Share. Help one another whenever, where ever, with whatever you can. Support one another. Love one another. We are all One Energetic Beingness.
What if we all knew that and started acting like it?
